			<description><![CDATA[ I picked up &quot;The New Work of Dogs&quot; by Jon Katz, and it's a must-read for all dog owners, as well as all students of human behavior.<br><br>Katz studies a cross-section of dog owners in Montclair, New Jersey, and he comes to some unsettling conclusions regarding the way people relate to dogs today. Instead of tending to their &quot;traditional&quot; tasks of hunting, herding, etc., people expect dogs to tend to their complex emotional issues -- i.e., the new work of dogs. We are expecting too much from our dogs while unintentionally failing to give them what they really need -- to be treated like dogs.<br><br>An interesting, cautionary book. 			<description><![CDATA[ Here is a very sweet Christmas story for all good little Stars fans...<br><br>Seven-year-old Jessie Stearns lay perfectly still in her bed, too scared to move.<br><br>Big men had come today, men wearing dark green shirts with the word STARS written in gold. But they were not big, bad men. They had come to give gifts to all the kids in the hospital. Some of these STARS even had Santa Claus hats on their heads.<br><br>Several girls giggled as a STAR with light brown hair handed them brand new Barbie dolls. Jessie knew she would not giggle if any of these big STARS came near her. She would not scream or cry, either, because she was a big girl now. But she would still be scared.<br><br>Maybe the STARS would just pay no attention to her. That meant she wouldnt get a gift, either, but she could think of nothing that she really wanted except to go home. 			<title><![CDATA[ My hockey poem! ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ As the sun set in Dallas, Texas thousands of feet walked in and into a place called American Airlines Center. <br>A beautiful place this was for this is where a strong and talented team plays the game of hockey.<br>They're named the Dallas Stars. <br>They came from Minnesota and we are so lucky to have them!<br>For many people here in the great city of Dallas, Tx. hockey IS the most noted favorite sport. <br>Not football, not soccer, not basketball, not golf, but hockey. <br>Atleast that is true for many, for whom it is not true oh well.<br>They have their sport and we have our hockey!<br>Youngsters come to see their sports heros and teenagers, adults, and senior citizens come to see a great game played on ice.<br>If you don't feel the excitement before you get to the game you will when you exit your car and head towards the AAC. <br>it's a hard excitement not to catch onto. <br>It's in the wind that rushes by you, the noise and cheers of the people inside and outside. <br>Dallas... ]]></description>

D encircles. D is a fortress we all can rely upon.<br>Wind, rain and evildoers are no match for a big D.<br>(Remind you of anyone you know?)<br><br>So when the night is rough and the air is scary,<br>gather up your pillow, your blanket, your water bottle and your fluffy nighttime companion<br>and spend the night safe inside the letter D.<br><div class='signature'><img... ]]></description>
